Ana Riza is a Physics teacher and serves as the Head of the Physics Unit at the Philippine Science High School-Eastern Visayas Campus in Leyte. Over nearly 27 years at PISAY–EVC, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and leadership, serving in various administrative roles. She leads adopt-a-school initiatives that promote STEM learning among elementary pupils. Beyond the classroom, she fosters community engagement through the Planet Lemniscate Club, which advocates for environmental awareness and stewardship.
She earned her BS in Physics Teaching from the Philippine Normal University and completed her Master’s in Physics at the University of San Carlos on DOST scholarships. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Physics Education at the University of the Philippines Open University, where her research focuses on how students activate conceptual resources in learning physics. As a Fulbright DAI scholar, she aims to advance sustainable, community-centered educational programs that empower diverse learners and strengthen climate-responsive education initiatives.
