Cristina is currently a Senior High teacher at Paulba National High School handling Language, Literature, Communication, and Social Sciences subjects. Recently, she was recognized as the 2022 Most Outstanding English Teacher in Senior High School and a recipient of the Golden Quill Award - an award that recognizes exemplary performance and invaluable contribution exemplifying the mandate of the Department of Education in the implementation of the English K to 12 Curriculum.
A researcher by heart, her action research entitled VTOON as an Interactive Learning Material in Teaching Creative Writing to Senior High School Students of Paulba National High School was recently approved to be funded by Department of Education’s Basic Education Research Fund. In essence, her research sought to develop an interactive virtual learning material that can be utilized by the learners in remote areas to further understand key concepts across curriculum.
Cristina graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in English, Cum Laude with distinction as Best Undergraduate Thesis at Bicol University College of Arts and Letters. She is one of the teacher-podcasters and member of the Core Group of the English Team of SDO Ligao City; A trainer of trainers in the Bicol Region; A national-qualifier coach in Journalism; A Self-Learning Module Writer and a Certified UNESCO-APCEIU Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Advocate.
Moving up the ladder, Cristina as a grantee of Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Scholarship will spend nine (9) months at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Chicago, Illinois to passionately share and teach Filipino language, culture and traditions to NIU local learners. Upon her return, equipped with myriad of learnings and experiences she would be able to innovate teaching strategies and methodologies that can help her contribute more and give back to her local clienteles. To serve as an inspiration to her colleagues in the profession in upskilling my capabilities to acquire best teaching practices that can also be used in teaching and lastly, to essentially contribute in filling up the educational gaps in her home, SDO Ligao City Division.
