Shawn Amper is an avid biology enthusiast and student leader who’s passionate about health and the environment. He co-founded and led his school’s student biomedical society, where he organized lectures and dissections, and is an active competitor in biology contests, both local and international. Most notably, he is a part of the Philippine delegation to the 2026 International Biology Olympiad.

He conducted computational biochemistry research alongside two of his friends on a peptide’s ability to penetrate membranes, contributing to the study of bodily calcium absorption. Shawn is also engaged in student leadership through council work, exchange programs, and co-curricular events. Quite recently, in his free time, he either reads thriller novels or checks out the different bird species in his backyard.
