MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) will be announcing the launch of three Fulbright scholarship programs in a virtual info session this November 15-18 in line with International Education Week (IEW).

In a four-day plenary talk organized through Zoom, Fulbright Philippines will be hosting seven morning and evening sessions. These sessions aim to shed light on Fulbright’s core programs along with partnered scholarships surrounding IEW’s themes of being “engaged, resilient, and global.” IEW is a week-long celebration meant to celebrate international education and exchange.

Each session will highlight a program by introducing successful Fulbright alumni and the impact of their Fulbright grants on their academic or professional careers.  They will be virtually joined by the PAEF team and PAEF Executive Director Mr. Julio S. Amador III.

“Fulbright Philippines’ contribution to International Education Week is all about highlighting the Fulbright experience of our alumni from various programs. We want to attract applicants to our scholarship grants by highlighting the professional, academic, and personal accomplishments of our alumni. Attendees should expect to know more about our grants for academic year 2023-2024,” Amador said.

Fulbright is currently preparing to launch three of its recruitment programs for Academic Year (A.Y.) 2023 - 2024, mainly: the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, the Fulbright-Philippine Agriculture Scholarship Program (FPASP), and the Fulbright-CHED Scholarship Program before the end of the year. These grants specifically cater to interested Filipinos who want to achieve higher educational enrichment or research / professional experience through an exchange program in the United States. Aside from these, programs such as the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD) are currently accepting applications for scholars.

The IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. The IEW website outlines their efforts to "promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences."

Fulbright Philippines, now on its 73rd year, is also gearing up for its 75th anniversary – marking 75 years of impacting Filipino lives through scholarship grants and opportunities.
